I have a couple of Welland Turbo Leopard drive docking stations.

I have found these ideal for not only recovering data off of drives but also an
easy way to do backups.

I used one when my previous notebook took an early retirement. (Have since
brought it back out of retirement).

See http://www.welland.com.tw/html/USB3.0/USB3.0.html see ME-6015

You should be able to pick them up at any computer shop. Mine cost around $75.

A USB 2.0 docking station is cheaper if you want that.

If you have another machine and the drive is SATA (2.5” or 3.5”) you can easily
get access to the files on the drive provided the drive is not cactus.

I am assuming that SSD drives are compatible.

The docking stations are USB 3.0 backwards compatible down to 1.1 and I have a
USB 3.0 express card for backups from my notebook.

I have a newish tower PC and it comes with USB 3.0 (plus USB 2.0)

I have another solution for older IDE drives but I doubt yours would an IDE
drive.

Regards Peter.

QUESTION:

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this machine to reboot? I don't mind
reinstalling Windows as long as I can get to the files on the machine. I have
backups but that will be a painful road as I still need a machine to be in a
working state so that I can restore the backup.

I'd put your SSD in another machine (as a secondary, not boot disk) to get the
data off as a priority - then just call Dell or whoever to make them fix it.
