I remember MS getting grief in the trade press many years ago for having options to Restart/Shutdown Windows on the Start button menu – “Stop by clicking Start – really?” And I find a lot of the discussions today re the missing Start button and the Modern UI in Windows 8 reminiscent of the furore the introduction of the Ribbon bar in Office caused. We seem to have moved on from there, and I suspect we will move on from here as well.
