Good idea. I forgot that option was a drop-down on the Installer. It's not
all hugs and puppies though, because this happened:

* The repair took about 20 mins and asked for a reboot.
*  Running VS2022 caused a flash of a window and it silently crashed and
vanished. Event log reports a .NET runtime crash.
* I cleaned vast numbers of vs* folders and files from %TEMP% and rebooted.
* VS2022 stalled opening a Form in the designer. I closed the window and it
restarted itself.
* I finally opened the .NET 6.0 project Windows Forms designer and the
toolbox is empty.

So unfortunately, it was all futile. Good idea though.
