I don't think the disgust was aimed at the woman choosing epidurals. It was to the OB's and the way they were in the said situations, blatantly using their power to undermine and misinform these woman. I am all for informed choice, not scaring woman half to death about the idea of pain and the suggestion that they cannot cope with the pain by the OB.
