Hi Emily,
I work in an area where I am constantly counselling women about pregnancy
options. The questions you mentioned are asked, not to make judgement calls,
rather to help the woman understand where she is, where she's going and
who's gonna take that journey with her. She has come to me initially for
advice and I cannot tell her what to do but I can get her thinking about
what she can do and how she can achieve it in a manner which suits her and
her life. The whole idea of pregnancy counselling is to facilitate the
decision making process by giving her the information she needs and making
her think about her life and how a baby will fit in. Talk lots, ask relevant
questions, DONT judge, and more than anything..........Listen!
