I've heard that Rosetta/Launchpad translations often ended up staying there and only shipping with Ubuntu and did not arrive at the upstream projects. This blog post is worrying (also see the comments): http://www.ogmaciel.com/?p=909 I should note that the Launchpad.net code is available under the AGPLv3 and so Padre may be able to install Rosetta locally for our own use and with good integration to the sources in the svn repository.
