Remember that Scott said that an empty ZIP field would take the SQL server
down. Given that assumption, I think this does seem a valid case for a
forcing function: a technological limitation exists, so the human factors
must take it into consideration, and make the limitation palpable (to
perhaps use a poor term) by the user.
