Perhaps this is a bit simple minded. But wouldn't one of the most obvious fixes for this situation be just to change the pc database application so that a missing Zip code didn't crash the server? One _always_ has the problem of normalizing addresses anyways - one person types St, another ST, another Street, perhaps another STreet,etc. There are mispelled street names, etc. So if one is doing 'the right thing' one wants either during the sync process or as a secondary step to run addresses through a process that turns all these different things into a common format. At that point, one just adds (or corrects!) zip codes as one does this step. -- Larry W.
