The hardware is different in the Palm IIIx and Palm V devices; I believe
that's the cause of the improvement you're seeing. I don't think you can
assume all future devices will have these characteristics; for instance the
Palm VII board is more similar to the Palm III in many ways (including not
being a DragonBall EZ.)
