Ack!!  It seems I was mistaken - the "fast keyboard response" feature was
also implemented in the old DragonBall (68328, non-EZ) keyboard driver in
the Palm VII source code.  This means that it should remain in all future
devices (even if they use the old DragonBall).  So you should just be able
to test for PalmOS version 3.1 or greater to see if it is present.

I notice on my Palm IIIx that the keypress reader has been significantly
improved. It is now possible to hold down buttons while pressing others,
and
get a response in under half a second!
Can anyone tell me which version of the OS has this enhancement, so that I
can check for it in my start-up code, and only call my hacked key reader on
older machines?
