Someone else suggested that to me too, and I'll be checking it out when I
get a chance.
The problem is (more for a typical end user than me) is that, from my
perspective, all I did was start the new Mac Pack. It backed up everything
I already had been using, then it forced me to do a soft reset, and
proceeded tocrash and burn. That's make for a pretty bad user (the old
"out-of-the-box" ) experience, even if it is because of some rogue
application they might have that never created a problem before. The
perception is that Palm is at fault because it's their new software--"all
the other, old software worked fine until I installed that !#$%^& new Mac
Pack."
The part that ticked me off, as a not-so-naive user, is that the software
that was backed up was the same stuff I have on there before, and it had
survived multiple soft resets in the past. The only difference I could spot
was that the Mac Pack installed the 3.0.2 update. Perhaps that update
triggered some new launch behavior code that never tripped up any of the
apps before. More likely, as you point out, there's at least one app on
there that has never been thru a reset on my system, and it's ill-mannered.

I would expect so, but in this day and age, it's not unusual for new
releases to wreak havoc of one kind or another. I haven't gotten one like
that from your guys, and I hope it never happens, but my expectations
aren't too high based on some past experiences with other software vendors.
I don't know what the answer is. I would expect that typical users don't do
a lot of resets, and that this is going to happen to them. Maybe not.
