Can't speak for everyone but my trust level for plugins is extremely low.
I won't bore everyone with the measures I take. One measure is that I
don't use MS Internet Explorer 'cause their security model is flawed.
Also, my trust level for YOU, the software developer, would be different
than my trust level for some marketing organization putting on a trade
show.

Or there needs to be some way OTHER than HotSync to receive information.
As an example, I have no problem receiving an "electronic business card"
from anyone because I am comfortable that they can neither pull anything
out of my box nor put anything except the address entry (which I get to
accept specifically).
It would seem to me that a station set up to beam a DOC file would be
impossible (? ok, just a lot less likely) to mis-use.
