Check the Palm Development Support web-page at
http://www.palm.com/devzone/conduits.html for helpful information on the
CDKs.
Quoting from that web-page,
"The CDK 3.0 for Windows was created with MSVC++ 5.0, it does not work with
MSVC++ 6.0 in debug mode".
Also, quoting from the web-page linked to by Version Specific Information,
CDK 3.0 for Windows,
"The CDK 3.0 for Windows is used with Microsoft Visual
C++ 5.0 to build debug DLLs or release DLLs. The CDK
3.0 can be used with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 to build
release DLLs only. There is an incompatibility between
any debug DLLs or debug EXEs built with Microsoft
Visual C++ 5.0 and any debug DLLs or debug EXEs
built with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0. The CDK 3.0 was
built using MSVC++ 5.0, so to enable debugging using
MSVC++ 6.0 with the CDK will require that a new debug
hotsyncd.exe file and new debug *d.dll files be built with
MSVC++ 6.0. At present there has not been a target
date set for this to happen.
If you own VC++6.0 you can call Microsoft and order the
previous release VC++5.0, in the USA the cost is about
$20.00. In the USA call 1-800-621-7930, outside the US
go to their web page , select a country then search the
site for a local telephone number."

Subject: Visual C++ 6.0 and CDK 3.0
Hi,
I heard about problems with the CDK 3.0 and VC++ 6.0. What should I do if
I have to write a conduit, try to get VC++ 5.0 or use 6.0 anyway?
Bye
Frank
