Eh?  Of course they patch the "program"; that's what patches *do*.  I
must still be missing something.

If you mean that they must patch the encrypted part of the program, I
claim that's not true.  They just have to patch the code that gets
executed PRIOR to entering the "decrypt, execute" part of the code and
branch around it.
