I don't think anyone is suggesting we adopt WinCE for the Palm Platform! Just
the nice color screen! Of course it's wasted on the lame palmsized pc's, like
most everything else. But it would have multiple benefits on a Palm XXX.
For one
thing, the genii at Palm would be able to get a little longer life out of it
(fewer wasted CPU cycles on running inefficient windows code compared to
PalmOS).
For another, it would markedly increase the amount of information
presentable on
our tiny 160 by 160 screens. (Imagine different colored dots instead of just
different numbers of Black and white fill patterns, like in the Datebook, etc.)
For another, I'm telling you that people really do want to carry around color
pictures of their dogs or cats in their Palms. (yeah, really!)
And most importantly, think of the games we could play! Quick, somebody just
go buy Roger Flores a Casio 100. (Can you say Color Hardball?)
Maybe he will convince someone in hardware to attach a color screen...
I'm willing to chip in $10 for this scheme, anyway.

Tongue only slightly in cheek,

Rick Bram
