I haven't tested any, or heard any official word on this, but since the IIIe has
the same
enhanced screen as the IIIx, I expect the answer would be "yes".

I expect that at least part of the problem here is that there is an extremely
long lead
time required for the masked ROM parts used in the IIIe... so, when we finish
the
software, we can release flash based devices much more quickly because we don't
have
to wait for a large quantity of masked ROM parts to come in.
I realize that information doesn't really help anyone, but hopefully it
satisfies
some of your curiosity...
