TSOP. We've never (to my knowledge) used BGA RAM, although the Palm V does have
a micro BGA flash part because of space considerations.

identical?

They don't have a serial number in the ROM.

The IIIx also uses a contrast wheel instead of the contrast dialog.
The IIIe uses the same ROM. AFAIK, its different only in that it has no serial
number.

Not sure, actually. My guess is that its the same as on Palm V.

I'll leave this one for David...

I hadn't heard about this until recently (so I can't swear to my answer), but I
believe that this is just a bundling deal.
None of this software (Parens & MathLib) is in ROM, its just shipped with the
device and installed by the user.

I don't know what our plans are for this.

I hope so, but unfortunately I'm not the one that makes those decisions...
I'll be pushing for it in any case.

Hope this helps...
Jesse
