I have a Practical Peripherals PM288MT II V.34 external modem. I bought
the 3com serial cable with the palm connector on one end and the 9-pin on
the other. I hooked it up to my Palm III, hooked the other end to the
modem with a 9-25 adapter. When I try to modem sync, it says "modem not
found (?????1106)" after trying to send some stuff a couple of times. The
CD light comes on briefly on the modem, and the TX and RX lights also flash
as stuff is sent back and forth, but the modem never dials the number I
have in the setup.
Any ideas what the problem is here? Is there some special string I need to
send? How does this work!
