C is a very clean easy to use language and the guys at Palm have provided a
good API with which to program the device. The advent of PalmOS3.5 makes
things even easier, they have done alot of work to remove any
inconsistencies and bring in support for many sought after routines. If the
people you are talking about are really smart and talented then C will not
cause them problems, nor will programming the Palm Computing Platform.
The technical speakers at PalmSource99 where quite exceptional in both
content and delivery and the conference was well worth attending. I came
away with clear thoughts on what had been done, why it had been done and
how I could exploit features of the new OS.
It would have been good if he suit that gave the "Wireless Strategy" keynote
session spent less time saying "ummm..." and "errr..." and more time
delivering the information everyone was there to hear. I didn't sit in on
any of the other keynote sessions so can't comment on the others but would
like reiterate how impressed I was by the quality of the technical speakers,
a job well done guys!
