I can see you reasoning there.  Still, there may have been a scenario where in the 
past Palm devices, there was just glass outside
of the 160x160 graphic area and the LCD maker ended up populating the border area with 
turned on transistors instead of "while
glass" for a consistency look.  The issue of border color may have never been 
addressed or addressed after it went into
manufacturing.

Guess we had to have been around when this was happening or at least be able to read 
the internal e-mail archives inside the Palm
product group over the past year.
