Compatibility issues SDK3.5 vs

I have had a couple of people request that I develop a color version of
an app, seperate from the color version.  A couple of people don't want
to be burdoned with the color stuff on b&w machines.

I find this a little difficult to juggle two different versions of an
app and would think this would be the case with most developers.

What are other people doing?  Have they received such suggestions?
What are workarounds?
