The processor is IMO almost irrelevant to the future of the devices since it
only changes the speed or possibly the battery life of the device.  What is
more important is to complete the separation of the PalmOS API from the Kadak
kernel so that it can be layered into many more "existing" devices.  Wasn't
there a story last year or the year before about getting PalmOS on top of the
EPOC32 kernel?

Nevertheless, a third party has written a PalmOS API that runs on different
kernels.. currently Linux.  It runs Linux applications and also is binary
compatible with PalmOS applications.  The product is called WindStone, and
basically it is a uClinux with some extra modules.
