shortcut-2?

I know this has been brought up before, but I can't seem to find
the related postings in the archives.  When I'm trying to debug
an app on my device (as it sits in the cradle) I have the IDE in 
debig mode telling me to enter console mode on the palm device.
I do the shortcut..2 in order to enter the console mode, but nothing 
happens.

Any help out there?
