Well, I've recieved a lot of feedback from my previous post and I have to
say in general that I've been disappointed by some people mailing me on the
basis of pure biased opinion.

Maybe I wasn't clear when I stated the following: "If my PDA is cooler than
my friend's PDA, then hey, I have
bragging rights." When I wrote this, that was more of a honest finishing
opinion. As far as I've seen, everyone loves showing off and talking about
their PDAs. They're a great discussion topic today, and like it or not, a
status symbol.

If I only had to pay $50 more to get a PDA with more options, I'd get it.
I've been getting mail about "stability" and "what people actually need".
Well, I have no opinions either way. I just know it's not wise to tell
people what they want or need. I believe the hardware has to support as
much as possible, so that the developer can target their market of choice.

*This colour reference is just an example for my point's sake. I'm well
aware Palm has a colour pilot*
If it's an application for the workplace, you won't need 16bit colour.
However if you're in another field, colour may be exactly what you need.
Also, if larger companies see a longer future for the new PDAs and believe
that the current string of Palm PDAs are past their due... they'll buy newer
ones for their employees. (makes sense)

I've also received a letter about "battery life" of the new Pocket PC
systems. I honestly don't know how they will perform. If they don't have a
long battery life, then obviously I wouldn't even consider them a competitor
in the market. I'm no expert, I'm just looking at this from a consumer's
point of view. It's the same simple evaluation process I use when I
purchase a Video card, DVD Player, house, car or anything else for that
matter.

Either way, it'll be interesting to see how Microsoft performs with it's
Pocket PC OS.
