Yes the Launcher is slower in 3.5 than it was before. That's unfortunate
and we'd also like to get it sped up again, hopefully faster than it was
before.  There isn't some fundamental reason why it has to be; it just got
slower due to adding more code to do various good things.  Needs some
re-optimizing, that's all.
