You really shouldn't be creating creator IDs on the fly. You should have
them registered with Palm, then you know that only you will be using them.
As for just checking on the current Palm, you may find one that's free
now, but what if your user installs an app *after* your program has been
run, and that app has a creator id of the one you stole?
I'm sure actually checking for it wouldn't be too hard, but your reasons
behind needed the functionality should be thoroughly explored.
