I suspect that future Palms with USB will work like the Handspring devices.
The Handspring devices have USB and two serial lines (a TX and RX). While
the TX and RX do not conform electrically to the RS-232 stanard they do
allow for serial data to be transferred to devices such as a folding
keyboard or a Hotsync cradle which converts the TX and RX signals to RS-232.
