IIRC, if you use the 1700 in the 2700 cradle (designed for the PocketPC), it
will Hotsync automatically. That cradle has special logic in it that
detects insertion and tweaks the hotsync line -- this is to support the
WindowsCE requirement for seemless syncing -- the 2700 has a similar
hardware design (screen, physical hardware).
