I've done this without problem. I don't believe that plugging a non-IIIc into a IIIc 
will cause it to try to charge the AAA batteries in the device, so it should work just 
fine. That means one fewer cradle to keep on your desk, which is nice. Of course, the 
non-Palm branded PalmOS devices sometime have their own cradles. For example, the 
Visors all use the same cradle, and the Sony Clie models all use the same cradle. The 
IBM models share the same cradle as the Palm model they look like.
