This is definitely true.  A month or two ago, I downloaded several 
hundred applications from Palmgear in order to survey their IDs.  Not 
only did a fair percentage of them have all-lowercase IDs (in the 
1-3% range...I don't remember the exact value), but a distressing 
number of them had the ID of 'Memo'!
