LSSA only works when the CPU controls the display.

in the event of new color devices, such as the IIIc, m505, m130
and all the sony units - this dream of being able to hack away
like this has been removed :((

WinScreenLock() doesn't do what you want at times, and, if you
search the archives, you'll find that it is broken on some
licensee devices (sony and handspring for example). there
has been a few proposals about some new versions of the APIs,
  but, nothing concrete..

i have requested many times in the past that palm provide us a
nice way to detect the gfx controller in the units - since the
beginning, we were blessed because the CPU was the controller
and we just poked at the LSSA register.

as you can see, i brought this up > 16 months ago now.. is anyone
at PalmSource listening to what developers want these days?

Palm has been very "inhouse" regarding messing with hardware
directly, but, not all developers want to do boring "make your
life easier applications".. some of us want to do "wow, you can
  do that?" type applications..
