Jim, As I said, the logic is desirable under the conditions I described. I did not claim that those conditions exist. If, in fact, you can render a Palm inoperable by _reading_ from an invalid memory location, then the device is very poorly designed. The thought that a common bug like reading from an invalid pointer would trash the device is truly a frightening thought.
