The Simulator really isn't a Zire 21 simulator - they made some cosmetic 
changes, but it's not really good enough (for the most part you can say 
this about all the Simulators that palmOne has released...).  It reports 
that the Zire 21 has the sound manager, which is not the case on the real 
device (remember, the Zire 21 simulator also comes up in color, also).

As to hangs on the device, I don't know why you're getting it.  Are you 
trying to play streamed sound even if the sound manager isn't present?  I 
mean the code I had only checks for features.  If you're trying to stream 
sound when you don't have a sound manager who knows what will happen.

result returned is 0.  If I enable sound on the simulator, I am able to handle
sampled sound on the Zire 21.  When I disable sound on the simulator, I lockup
as I do on the real device.
