The new tool chain means precisely that. A new C/C++ compiler sitting underneath
Eclipse. I know the C compiler was well advanced, but I remember hearing that the
C++ compiler was lagging behind. I don't know the current status of these tools,
as I'm not at the conference.

I'm hopeful that the tools are going to be freely available (though I haven't heard
anything different, I wouldn't put it past bean-counters to try to charge for it).

I've also heard the the tool chain will produce binaries for all versions of the OS
when
coupled with the appropriate SDK (68K, 68K+ARM, ARM only, and up through OS 6).

Other than that, we'll have to see what they release on their web site.
