The versions the current prc-tools (2.3) are based one: gcc \ 2.95.2 for 68K and 3.3.1 for ARM.

are you implying that the eclipse development suite uses prc-tools? i was always under the understanding that there was a new compiler :) (i haven't looked at the palmsource cd yet - still trying to recover)

Here's the breakdown:

m68k-palmos-gcc (based on gcc 2.95.2): used for building 68K applications
arm-palmos-gcc (based on gcc 3.3.1): used for ARM PNOs
gcc 3.3.1 (x86 target): used for building x86 code for PalmSim DLLs.
pacc: PalmSource Arm compiler, used for building ARM applications.
