> *g* people dont realize that free tools do come with some caveats.. :)
I think most people do. Those of us who have written free things certainly know that. > its even shown that the free tools are now to be used within the > 'official developer suite' Exactly. This is why I have an issue with cygwin. It wasn't that big a deal before, because we could avoid using them. Now that they're becoming official, they need to be easier to use. > but, having someone without a clue bitch about it, makes me wonder if > we should really work on the tools anymore :) <sigh> Touchy. There is a problem here, whether or not you want to face up to it. I talk to a lot of people who want to start PDA development, and the vast majority of them really don't like the available tools. I find that worrying. > palmsource *will* attempt to hide the command line interface from you > within their developer suite The command line interface is not the point - we're going to get Eclipse, and I'll lay odds that Borland will support the tools as well in CBX. I can even use Delphi from the command line (and some people do). The issue is installing the damn tools in the first place. > (stupid as in dont want to think for themselves a bit) Great. That sort of thinking is not going to upset the "stupid users" at all.
