Doesn't the Athena connector on the T5 have a serial connection, albeit TTL level? Other devices have had TTL too, eg the Handspring Visors, so cables which perform that conversion are not exactly new. It appers to me that which is certain is the demise of the Universal Connector on future devices, in lieu of the Athena (or mini USB on lower end units).
