in my system I use CW 9.3 and when I try to use the pilrc all I get is a
 BIG
blue keyboard labeled Alphasmart and I'm not able to do anything with it, I
just find pilrc totally useless or maybe I just don't know how to use it
 and
since CW has gone the way of the dynasour, there is nobody to ask.

You're trying to use PilRC Designer, an application that lets you edit
PilRC format resource files. The problem with it showing an
Alphasmart Dana screen is an issue with the app's default
configuration, and it can be fixed by editing the toolbar to show the
skin chooser and then picking a more standard skin.

.rcp files are PilRC-format resource files; they are text files that
describe resources. PilRC is a seperate compiler that CodeWarrior can
use to convert a RCP file into a PRC file that just contains resources
(usually with a .ro extension) that then gets merged with your program
object code to produce the final program.
