Please note I'm not asking you to support any "third > party" tools. It's not making people happy though. It's giving people weird errors they don't understand. If you know what you're doing, you could make your own fork of paludis-extras for personal use and make sure it doesn't get mentioned on the Gentoo forums or any kind of crappy wiki.
