Hm, I always refrained from purchasing LaCie because I thought a brand that brags with Porsche design coudn't possible focus on quality... I've always been using Maxtor drives, internal as well as external. in the past I had 1 internal crash on me after 1Y+1week. luckily the shopkeeper/technician where I bought it was a friend and even though it was out of guarantee I got a new one. nevertheless, all my data was lost. another internal 300 GB drive crashed after 3 months, so that was still under guarantee and due to it's age didn't cause much data loss.
