I had the same question until I realised it's a piece of art, plain and simple.

The engineering is to be explored, experienced and appreciated in much the same 
way as lighting, brush strokes, form, etc.




not sure I'd find a place for it even in my eclectic collection of "things".

When people see me making paper models, they ask me "why?", and I answer 
"because I can".

With this one, it's my turn to ask "why?".  It's a marvel of engineering, 
but unless you appreciate cogs and gears and wood turning, it's not really 
my cup of tea.. now if it *made* a cup of tea.....  :)

But if someone gave one to me, I wouldn't knock it back. ;)
