My dear Wolfgang,

I don't install other operating systems, as my computer hobby is just that.
Nothing more. I have no intention of doing it full time and cannot do it
just for myself. There is no "just me" in my life. My computers are shared
by the rest of the family, my work machines are shared by all and sundry.
And I'm expected to fix them all. Oh, and most of my customers are elderly,
who have already purchased their machines and I can only work with what they
have. I'm not going to tell them that they could have got the os for free!
And then pay me $$ to install it - then have to come back every week when
something fails, as there are practically no Unix people around the
areas..... and then have them ring me asking "why can't I download and
install XXX"..... And why can't I view this file, and why isn't my printer
working, and my (insert relative here) tried to fix it but made it worse
(this one is actually quite normal), and .........................

As to putting anything else other than ms on my work machines... BWAAA HA HA
HA HA HA HA HA You have got to be kidding me!! I have enough to do at work
as an Admin/HR without spending a huge amount of time training people to use
other programs. Its hard enough for them to work winrar files!! (Quick and
short - this guy opens a zip file that was on an email, has only winrar on
the computer, sees an item in winrar called "folder", clicks on it and yells
"PORN"!! I go check, it's his temporary internet files! The guys been
surfing porn sites, and now thinks it's part of the zip file... The punch
line is, it came from and went to a govt employee... he he hehe)(Oh, and
he's had this machine running winrar now for, oh, a couple of years!?)

So.... Do you really think I'm going to totally revamp an entire small
company when the boss is more likely to be interstate than in the office, a
man who was offered a part share in the business who bankrupted his own
business, and a woman who has problems with excel formulas!? Not to mention
the old man who is so computer illiterate, he has trouble checking his
email... And when something goes wrong.. well, it's my fault! The bank was
offline and the internet went down last week, so everyone got their pays
late. But I should have been able to fix it, don't you know, and I did it
on purpose.................... Yes, I'm still angry about that one.

I just can't be bothered. They don't pay me enough.

End of subject for me. :)

Gonna go and fail at doing another 3D thing... on my Windoze!! machine. ;)

Mandy
