Dear Mandy

The same in my familiy. But I told them to use Linux when surfing in the
internet or doing "serious" work like text processing and so on. Windoze
is only allowed for gameing when NO OTHER possibility is available!!!
They do so, and my amount of work keeping linux up and running is minimal.

Well, this depends upon your point of view. I think every buck paied for
me instead of m$ is much better invested ... ;) ;) LOL

Girl, what you are talking about! ;)

Oh oh, this sounds quite familiar to me: "My relative, who is a computer
export, too, installed ..."
Big bullshit followes ...

> As to putting anything else other than ms on my work machines... BWAAA HA HA
> HA HA HA HA HA You have got to be kidding me!! I have enough to do at work
Big sorry, not really! What I told you was my way of getting my software
environment to work. And it saved around 10000 $ within the first two years.
Not too bad, I think. Enough to have a good lunch! ;)

OK OK OK OK, the normal admin horror, isn't it!
Please be cool; a few years working with a complex application like
winrar isn't enough ... ;)

> So.... Do you really think I'm going to totally revamp an entire small
Yes (climper with my eyes!)

Yeah, one point of failure less! LOL

Of course, who's else! ;)

This is a point I can totally agree!
> I just can't be bothered. They don't pay me enough.
Correct!
> End of subject for me. :)
Amen!
And that's the point my thinking about the problem startet: It is not
the IT for itself but the lousy programmed software by m$ which is the
problem. Sure, sometimes you have to do admin tasks in Linux or Unix,
too. But normally it is not too much work, and if you have some error
messages they are logically funded and you have more than a chance to
get the error fixed quickly.

> Gonna go and fail at doing another 3D thing... on my Windoze!! machine. ;)
Have a nice day!
And thanks for the nice discussion; I love it.

Have a nice day, Wolfgang
