Big business is expected to cater to escape, so they add bells and
whistles. Consumers put on different hats. They like to be taken away
by fantastical sites. They like to get in and get what they need on
pure information sites.

Imagine if the designs for these two sites were reversed.

The big problems with loading up a site with gimmicks are speed and
compatibility. Should big business offer an alternative? They do what
they want. If you go to http://disney.go.com/index without the proper
requirements, you can't even get in the door.

It s seems obvious, so maybe I don't understand the question. I hope I
didn't come off as condescending.
