Actually the new design is designed to push you into immediately
printing the file, thereby using more ink (hopefully Canon ink). In this
case it is not aesthetics or artistry but plain old business that drove
the design. Other sites may have different reasons for what they do (a
certain upcoming site features a synchronized soundtrack and other
things to personalize the experience that are there solely for the
aesthetics) but Canon has business in mind.
