In turms of internet broadcasting, if you have a two sound card setup with a 
mixer, and even if you don't have a board there are some really inexpensive 
but decent ones out there, I will recommend the Cad GXL2200/2400-series for 
internet broadcasting to the ends of the earth.  At $69-$79, you cannot go 
wrong.  If not, there are some like it that i haven't heard, but no the 
technology very well that cost about as much that use your USB port, like 
the Samson C01U.  These would be good if someone wanted to use a line 
recorder type situation.  I'd honestly try those first, and then try an 
Audio Technica ATR30 mic which I think sounds jsut as good as a 58, and then 
go 58.
