John, try to find a couple of lantern batteries and hook them in series. that 
will 
get that car stereo cooking. I used to have all kinds of stuff like that. I 
still 
have a Mallory power supply that my dad passed on to me that I used that was 
adjustable from 1 to 20 volts 12 amps continuous for stuff like that.
