I have a quickmix profile setup in my windows startup to prevent any
unforseen axidents. I doublechecked tr's settings, and they're all just
lovely. I'm wondering if switching drivers might solve the problem?

No, he doesn't have two sound cards it seems, I'm just wondering if he has
the wrong input selected somehow and that's not hard to do either as Total
Recorder's methods can be a little tricky to deal with at times, it seems
to me that the "What You Hear" option may be selected in which case you
either unselect that and select something else in Total Recorder or you
manually select the input in your "Volume Control" settings, use
"properties" in "Volume control" to adjust your sound card or devices
"Record" settings.

well, one major difference is that one can record skype calls. but it's
wierd, I can record and it will pickup event sounds, jaws, but not winamp
or
windows media player.
