Saturday, October 24Only two A-division races were sailed on day one of the Sherman Hoyt Trophy hosted by Brown University at the Edgewood Yacht Club. With overcast skies, cool temps, and a dying breeze, one set was completed in north/northeast winds of 4-6 knots on W4 courses. Two attempts were made to get in a race for B-division with both races abandoned as winds dropped to nothing at times and the tack and/or gybe fest came into play. Thanks to our judges Peter Bailey (Brown '15), Johanna Kincaid (Brown '15), and Kelly McGlynn (Brown '15), and to all of the Brown sailors for helping out. Thanks as well to ICSA Representative Justin Assad from Dartmouth. Tomorrow's forecast looks much better with race 1B warning scheduled for 10am. Photographer Rob Migliaccio will be on hand to take some great shots of everyone. Top 5Visit http://scores.collegesailing.org/f15/sherman-hoyt/ for full results.
