Title: Sherman Hoyt Trophy Summary

Sunday, October 25

Race 1B got underway shortly after 10am in a south/southwest breeze of 6-10 knots. Much of the racing continued in similar conditions with a little drizzle at times and the breeze slowly shifting to the west. As the wind went west, there were teaser puffs of nearly 15 knots that only lasted for a few minutes. By 1pm the breeze fully went west and began to die, making the last few races slow paced and in wind ranges of 3-6 knots. All courses were W3 and W4's, one protest was filed and was disallowed. Thanks to our judges Peter Bailey (Brown '15), Johanna Kincaid (Brown '15), and Kelly McGlynn (Brown '15), and to all of the Brown sailors for helping out. Thanks as well to ICSA Representative Justin Assad from Dartmouth. Photographer Rob Migliaccio was on hand to take some great shots of everyone and his photos will be posted on the NEISA Facebook shortly.

With only 10 total races, the regatta came down to the last race for the top 4 teams. A huge congrats to M.I.T. for sailing a great event and winning the 2015 Sherman Hoyt Trophy by one point over Yale.
